theFIVE6 was born of the collaborative efforts of vocalist, Cathleen Ireland (formerly of Friday's Child) and Pittsburgh guitar veteran, Jim "Giacomo" Held. Primarily an acoustic duo for the past year, they recently added band mates Al Peden (Dr. Zoot) on bass and Jay Constable (Brownie Mary) on percussion. Balloon Ride Fantasy is a 7-piece indie pop band from Pittsburgh. By combining rich instrumentation, layered vocal harmonies and ridiculous concepts, they create a fun and interesting sound with a lush sonic texture. A strong dynamic and sense of humor are evident throughout their songs, whose lyrics indulge a ravenous pack of zombies, a fantastical Japanese dreamland and other outlandish lyrical themes.
