One doesn't need to hear a single note of music to know that "Jimbo and the Soupbones" is a band that can make you happy. These five musicians found each other in 2007 via internet correspondence and collaborating at local open stages. The musical consortium that was then formed became determined to create their own freeform blend of funk, rock and soulful emotion that can be heard. "Mission accomplished". There is a new sound coming out of Pittsburgh's kitchen and the Soupbones are responsible.
At the core of this Soupbone collective is singer/songwriter/guitarist James "JIMBO" Jackson. Everything about this man is big. His body, his voice, and most importantly, his stage presence. With charisma to spare, he is the quintessential frontman. Having been raised on a diverse blend of music ranging from seventies soul artists like; Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye to folk artists such as James Taylor and Jim Croce, The result is a curiously unique voice that is powerful yet remains pleasant and familiar. As the bands songwriter, he lets no lyrical rules govern. Tragic and often humorous stories and songs are written with specific intentions. From the unsure fathers perspective on "What kinda Daddy" to the festive nonsense of "I would eat a bug for you", the purpose of each song is evident.
Guitarist Jason Caliguri began displaying his guitar skills at 11 years old. Mentored by local blues/jazz legend Larry Belli, Jason was heavily influenced by guitar greats like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Hendrix and George Benson. He has since grown into one of Pittsburgh's most capable and versatile lead guitarists. His timing and taste keep the music tight, though his real talents are showcased through his soulful and astounding solos. He acts as the perfect bookend that keeps The Soupbones spirited show balanced.
The funky grooves that this band delivers could not be attained without bassist Sean Clements. A bass scholar with no formal training, he commands the bottom end. His love of jazz and funk manifests itself through precise bass lines that are fun, funky and easy to listen to. He is the rock in the rhythm section that every good bands needs.
Nicholas Tolkacevic speaks softly and carries big drumsticks. He comfortably layers intricate rock, funk and hip hop beats to create a style of his own. He effortlessly handles the daunting task of keeping time in a band with extreme dynamics and frequent tempo changes.
Percussionist Nate Vagias is the multi-instrumentalist with all the toys. His wide array of music makers coupled with his ability to manipulate them compliment the Soupbone sound and keep everything grounded. He is a musician that becomes one with the tools of his craft. His tribal vibes are thoughtful, intricate and contagious. show less -

At first glance, one might cast Brad Wagner in with the lot of singer/songwriter talent that rushed onto the Musical scene in the mid 90's.One listen though and you will reconsider. There is an edge alternately tipped with humor and at times cut with fire that sets this Singer-Songwriter apart. While others may write and sing with a passionate eye,Wagner takes a more direct and less self-conscious approach. He sings and writes passionately-about personal hardship, private triumph, and the larger public consequences. Calling on a world of musical influences-ranging from roots rockand country(Hank Williams,Buddy Holly)to working class icons(Dylan,Springsteen,Petty)to first generation punk(The Clash,Elvis Costello)Wagner offers a sound that is alternately brash and humble, raucous and romantic. On stage Wagner deftly mixes words and music, a knowing glance witha an ebullient hook to move the audience through the range of human emotion:from righteous anger to infectious laughter with countless stops in between.
Wagner Has gone through lots of Musical incarnations Since he first hit the Pittsburgh scene in the mid 80"s with the Party Band" CRITICAL"then on to front the ShotnBeer RocknRoll of the Boilermakers whose Cassette only release "bootleg" led to a Recording Contract offer that was foiled when the Company closed their doors. For a short time Wagner toured with Pittsburgh"s The Flashcats as a Rhytmn guitarist while the band backed up R&B legend BullMoose Jackson during his comeback tour.
In the 90's Wagner picked up his acoustic guitar and began performing solo as an opening act at Pittsburgh's Lengendary Graffitti Showcase Club for such diverse talents as Collective Soul -Johnny Paycheck-Great White- the Proclaimers -Leon Russell-Dave Alvin and Wet Willie .The topical and heartfelt songs from those shows were part of the self released crtically aclaimed CD (Karaoke Must Die) Touring to support" Karaoke "Wagner did Showcases in Chicago and New York City. Then Wagner recuited some of Pittsburgh 's best Musicans to record 2 Rockin songs for the compilation CD (Greetings from Liberty Ave)
After a stint as a commerical songwriter for several local and national accounts and penning a soundtrack for a childrens song book. Wagner then resurfaced on Stage with Whiskey laced vocals, Harp weilding Charasmatic Blues Singer for The Blues Junkies. Whose Cd release (blues is our business ) contained several Wagner penned songs which were used In a Motion Picture soundtrack. Wagner has now returned to his roots performing his songs along with a healthy dose of classic Rock tunes with his new band THE BAR FLYS . show less -

Produced by Grammy award winning studio legend Don Was, Maia Sharp's latest album, Echo heralds her ascension into the spotlight after being embraced by Bonnie Raitt, Carole King, the Dixie Chicks, Art Garfunkel, Keb' Mo', Cher, Trisha Yearwood, Edwin McCain, Lisa Loeb, David Wilcox and many others who have recorded her songs and treasured her talent. From this point, the secret is out and Sharp stands on her own - a uniquely gifted singer, writer and multi-instrumentalist, whose peers are the most discerning artists in the business but whose music on Echo reaches out toward the wider world.
Sharp started early on the journey that led ultimately to Echo. She had barely hit her teens when she started performing on piano, guitar and saxophone. Following the example of her father, Randy Sharp, a highly respected songwriter/producer/musician, she played in local Los Angeles clubs and kept her ears open not only to contemporary folk and rock but also to jazz and classical elements. She won significant critical notice and radio airplay with her albums, Hardly Glamour (Ark 21), 2002's self titled Maia Sharp (Concord) 2005's Fine Upstanding Citizen (KOCH) and in that same year Sharp was one third of the exquisite collaboration with Art Garfunkel and Buddy Mondlock on Everything Waits to Be Noticed (EMI/Manhattan) produced by Billy Mann.
Maia is just as comfortable writing for others and it shows. She has had her songs recorded by The Dixie Chicks ("A Home" from Home), Bonnie Raitt ("I Don't Want Anything To Change," "Crooked Crown" and "The Bed I Made" from Souls Alike), Trisha Yearwood ("Standing Out In A Crowd" from Jasper County), David Wilcox ("Ask For More" from Into The Mystery), and many others including Cher, Lisa Loeb, Edwin McCain, Keb' Mo', Art Garfunkel, Mindy Smith, Paul Carrack, Amanda Marshall, Kim Richey and Kathy Mattea.
The albums, writing and collaborations have led to years of performing on stage, radio and Television. Maia has been all over the US and UK headlining clubs and theaters, opening for (and often sitting in with) Bonnie Raitt, Art Garfunkel, Jonatha Brooke, Patty Griffin, David Wilcox, Pat Benatar, Edwin McCain, Shawn Colvin, Keb' Mo' and more and appearing on Mountain Stage, Acoustic Cafe, XM, Sirius, NPR's All Things Considered, CBS Early Morning, the Today Show and many other noteworthy forums.
As every step is a stepping stone, Echo is a reflection of experience and a thorough representation of who Maia Sharp is today. "These songs were written over a period of three years," she sums up. "I wrote other songs during that same time, but these felt especially right for me now and they seemed to get along with each other. There's a common thread of flaw and imperfection...recognition and then celebration. Perfection is highly overrated and, I'm betting, pretty boring."
Between touring and writing, Maia has been producing other artists including platinum selling singer songwriter, Edwin McCain and Canadian Idol finalist Donny Anderson. Both albums, which feature many of Maia's songs are due out early 2011. show less -

Caleb Lovely:
From birth it was clear music would be a huge part of Caleb's life. He grew up in a musical household, both of his parents were singers who met while performing with Tops In Blue in the Air Force. His father later became a back up singer for Natalie Cole. But singing wasn't enough for Caleb, not after he saw a Gibson Les Paul Gold Top being played magnificently in a music video. He knew at that moment that he was destined to be a guitar player and share his songs with the world. The next day was Caleb's 12th birthday and there among his other presents was a gift from his father...his first electric guitar.
Caleb quickly began to teach himself how to play guitar and spent his high school years in Pittsburgh dedicated to becoming a better player, writing songs and learning to play bass, drums and piano. After graduation he focussed on music full time, playing live shows as an acoustic solo act and with his trio that he formed with high school friend Cameron Marburger on bass. They quickly developed a strong fan base and began headlining regularly around the Pittsburgh area and at other venues in the region. They've also opened for artists like Marc Broussard, Edwin McCain, Dashboard Confessional, Tyrone Wells, Rooney and Hanson. In spring of 2009 Caleb was enlisted to tour the nation as guitarist for the band Rookie of the Year. Six months later, he won a Pittsburgh Singer/Songwriter performance competition that lasted 16 weeks, winning a check for 3,000 dollars, and creating a major buzz throughout the city.
During the 2010 summer Caleb was invited to play acoustic solo shows on the Vans Warped Tour. While on tour he was writing new songs that would be included on his solo E.P. a few months later. He also released official music videos for two songs from the E.P. "Stay" and "Call Me" with each garnering over 65,000 views on his YouTube channel. The videos on his channel have been viewed over 975,000 times already and have led to Caleb developing a national and international fan base with fans as far away as Australia.
In April 2011 Caleb, Cam and new drummer Pete Wilson enterered the recording studio with producer Rick Beato (Need to Breathe, Shinedown) to begin work on new songs that will become the band's first full length release.
Dom Liberati:
Dom Liberati delivers bass driven anthem rock with an earnest, aggressive and fresh approach. His infectious, stadium-sized hooks are reinforced by sharp, jangly guitars and pocket-heavy grooves. The former Academic All American Quarterback with small town charm, good looks and sensitive worldview maintains his uniqueness as a stand out bassist with unparalleled stage presence and an unforgettable, Midwestern-flared rock voice.
Combining the pop sensibility of The Police and Jimmy Eat World, the raw grit of Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon, the hopeful yet confessional lyricism of Switchfoot and the anthemic energy of Bruce Springsteen, Liberati's unique soundscape pays homage to some of his biggest influences.
Born and raised in southeastern Ohio, the scholar athlete received his first bass guitar at age 12. He spent his teenage years juggling his Friday Night Lights-esque small town upbringing with his drive for performing, songwriting and developing his musicianship. In 2007, Dom established Live & Loud Productions, on which he released his first album Humans. Liberati wrote, produced and mixed the entire album. In 2009 he released The Frailty EP featuring sparsely arranged new tunes and acoustic renditions of select Humans tracks.
In late 2009, Dom relocated to Los Angeles and his original song "Love Holds It Down" appeared on the hugely successful Guitar Hero franchise (Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero). He spent the next two years writing, performing and facing self-exploration from which his second album was born.
Liberati's 2011 release The Good Hurt delivered an accomplished collection of songs about life, love and the struggle to make sense of them both. Produced entirely by Liberati, the album was mastered at famed Capitol Records and featured collaborations with co-producers The Daylights and Grammy nominated producer Michael Linney (Ke$ha, Jordan Knight, Jason Derulo).
In late 2011, Dom's first official music video was released and "We Own The Night" went on to win two Los Angeles Movie Awards. The video received "Best Editing" and "The Award of Excellence" and continues to gain YouTube views.
Liberati's creative collaborations run across the board. He has written and recorded with Grammy winning songwriter Sunny Hilden (Sting, Ray Charles, David Archuleta), former UMG session guitarist Tony Solis (John Legend, Don Henley, An Endless Sporadic) and the Tiesto-favored DJ Fei-Fei.
Dom Liberati currently lives in Los Angeles and can be found frequently performing with his self-assembled custom basses at iconic music venues such as The Hotel Cafe, Viper Room, House of Blues on Sunset Strip, and The Roxy. show less
